Refund Policy

1. Overview
Lumi sells a one-time digital service: the creation and hosting of a live invitation link. Because the service is delivered immediately upon payment (your link goes live and becomes accessible to hundreds of guests), we operate a limited refund policy.
We strongly encourage you to use the free builder to preview your invitation before purchasing. You can see exactly how your invite will look, with your photos, your names, your theme, before you pay a single cent.
2. What Qualifies for a Refund
We will issue a full refund in the following circumstances:
- Technical failure by Lumi: Your invitation link is non-functional (e.g., returns an error, fails to load, displays incorrect content) due to a fault in our systems, and we are unable to resolve the issue within 48 hours of you reporting it to us.
- Duplicate charge: You were charged more than once for the same invitation due to a payment processing error.
- Unauthorized transaction: You did not authorize the charge. (Please also contact your card issuer in this case.)
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase to qualify.
3. What Does Not Qualify for a Refund
The following situations do not qualify for a refund:
- Typos or errors in your content. You can edit your invitation at any time for free, including the title, date, venue, time, and all modules. There is never a need to repurchase.
- Change of mind. You decided you no longer want a digital invitation after publishing it.
- Event cancellation or postponement.You can update your invitation with new details (including a cancellation notice) at no charge. We are not responsible for events that don't proceed.
- Dissatisfaction with themes or design. All themes, font pairings, and design options are fully visible in the free builder before purchase. We recommend previewing your invite thoroughly before paying.
- Watermark on Standard tier. The Lumi watermark is a documented feature of the $12 Standard tier. If you do not want the watermark, you should purchase the $29 Premium tier. Upgrading from Standard to Premium is available at any time for an additional $17 (contact us to arrange this).
- Account deletion. Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund.
- Requests made more than 7 days after purchase.
4. How to Request a Refund
To submit a refund request, email support@lumi-invites.com with:
- The email address associated with your account
- The invitation slug (the URL of your invite, e.g.,
lumi-invites.com/david-and-maria-a7k9) - The date of purchase
- A description of the issue (for technical failure requests, include screenshots or a description of what you see)
We will respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method. Refund timing depends on your bank or card issuer, typically 5–10 business days.
5. Chargebacks
We ask that you contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are a small team and chargebacks are costly and time-consuming to dispute. If you have a legitimate concern, we will do our best to resolve it quickly and fairly.
If a chargeback is filed without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend the associated account pending resolution.
6. Upgrades
If you purchased the Standard tier ($12) and wish to upgrade to Premium ($29) to remove the watermark, contact us at support@lumi-invites.com. We will provide a payment link for the $17 difference and upgrade your invitation within 24 hours.
